Our Horseback Riding and English Camp Ireland program is ideal for horse riders of all levels who wish to improve in flatwork, show jumping and cross-country eventing.

Horseback Riding and English Camp Ireland:

Riders benefit from expert instruction in flatwork, show jumping, cross-country and hacking at this Horseback Riding and English Camp, with sessions adapted to their riding ability, from experienced beginners to advanced. English classes are taught in small groups of no more than 12 students, typically around 10, allowing for more individual attention and active participation. The Horseback Riding and English Camp Ireland programme includes 3 hours a day of riding lessons (morning or afternoon) and 2 hours of English classes (Mon.-Fri.), in a homely setting on the equestrian grounds under the guidance of experts in flatwork, show jumping, cross-country, and horseback riding. With over 30 years of experience teaching young Irish and foreign horse riders.

English classes are taught in small groups of no more than 12 students, typically around 10, allowing for more individual attention and active participation. A minimum stay of two weeks is recommended to give participants more time to progress in their riding, practise their English and make the most of the overall experience.

For riders aged 13–21 who wish to focus on competitive show jumping, our Specialised Competitive Show Jumping Camp offers a more specialised programme designed to refine jumping techniques, riders’ competencies and improve performance.

Timetable: 9am-11am / 2pm-4pm, (Monday to Friday).

Horseback Riding and English Camp Ireland:

The equestrian centre where international riders will receive classes and lessons on our Horseback Riding and English Camp is approved by The Irish Riding Club Association. The owners, renowned coaches of the Junior Irish Show Jumping Team, promote healthy lifestyles and care for the animals and horses. Their riding centre has over 80 hectares overlooking the mountains and forests and is located a short distance from the beaches.

This horse riding school consists of an indoor and outdoor arena and a cross-country course. In turn, their 30 onsite Horses and Ponies are all suited to and graded in Show Jumping, Cross-country, and Flatwork disciplines. As well as horseback riding hacks. Come and visit and get a unique experience on horseback in an international equestrian family environment, making friends and speaking in English.

Horse riders aged between 8 and 11 years are always welcome, but would need to be accompanied by an older horse rider during the horseback riding and English Camp Ireland equestrian stay.

P2.1 Summer Horseback Riding and English Camp Ireland (horse-riding programme)

Programme Overview

Ages: 11–17 years (10–12-year-olds must be accompanied by an older rider).
Full-board accommodation: On-site at the riding centre, in shared bedrooms accommodating up to 6 students.
Shared airport transfers: To and from Dublin Airport for flights arriving and departing between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Riding assessment: Practical riding assessments to determine each participant’s ability and appropriate riding group.
P2 English lessons: 10 hours of English tuition per week.
Riding lessons: 15 hours of riding instruction per week.
Stable management: 5 hours per week learning about horse care & stable management.
Equestrian disciplines: Flatwork, show jumping and cross-country.
Show Jumping Group A – Advanced: Jumping courses of 80–90 cm.
Show Jumping Group B – Intermediate: Jumping courses of 60–70 cm.
Show Jumping Group C – Beginners with previous riding experience.
Hacking: a ride around the fields in the equestrian centre.
Weekly competition: One show-jumping competition each week & prize-giving day.
Leisure activities: A range of recreational and social activities.
Excursions and free time: One Saturday day-trip per week, which may include a visit to the local town, shopping or a trip to the beach.

Dublin Airport arrivals and departures: Assisted arrivals, departures & transfers at Dublin Airport are available on Sundays between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Arrivals to the riding centre (own transport): Between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Departures from the riding centre (own transport): Before 12:00 noon.

Horseback Riding and English Camp Ireland:

P2 - P2.1 Monday – Friday Timetable:

08.00 Breakfast.
P2: 09.00 -11.00/ 11.00-13.00: English / Horse Riding lessons in rotation according to the level of the students & riders.
P2.1: 09.00 - Tack horses. 09.30-12.00 Horse Riding lessons. 12.00-12.30: Return to stables, care for ponies, groom, hay and water.
P2.1 12.30 Lunch/ P2 13.00 Lunch. (Buffet)
P2.1: 13.30: P.2: 14.00: Stable management, riders will be taught how to groom their own pony, check and clean equipment, develop a sense of responsibility and respect for their own safety and for the comfort and welfare of their equine companion.
14.30/15.00 English classe, afternoon ride or horse riding lessons.
16.00 Return to the stable, groom horses, hay and water, clean tack & put them away.
17:00 Free time, shower and change before dinner. (main meal of the day).
18.00 Dinner, (Home cooked meal), with students and riders.
19.00 Leisure activities.
10.30 – 11.00 Lights out.
Evenings and weekends: A selection of things to do in the evenings at our Horseback Riding and English Camp Ireland, depending on the weather, sports, games, barbecues, music, singing and dancing there is always plenty to do. On Fridays we will have some fun competitions and prize giving. Take a full day trip to one of the many scenic locations or enjoy a local shopping trip or perhaps visit a local horse/pony show. Please note that in off-peak seasons, English classes will be given in the evenings.
Please note that there may be slight changes to daily timetable.
Please also note that in off-peak season, the number of English classes will be reduced to three days and will be given in the evenings.

Full board accommodation in the Equestrian Centre in shared rooms.
3 meals / day, snacks, drinks and healthy refreshments.
15 hours of riding lessons (flatwork, show jumping, eventing and horseback riding).

Students are required to bring their own towel, shower gel and shampoo.
Participate in local show jumping competitions (Specialised, P2.2 only).
Optional Recreational activities on Saturdays: Sightseeing, mini-shopping or a horse show entry.
Optional Cultural tour on Saturdays.
Flights & travel insurance not included.

The riding instructors are truly outstanding. They carefully assessed her riding level and moved her to the group that suited her abilities best. This individual attention helped her build confidence, improve her skills, and make real progress during the two weeks.

We also felt that the children were very well supervised and genuinely cared for at all times. The whole team was kind, professional, and attentive, creating a safe and welcoming environment.

Taïssia also improved her English, made wonderful new friends, enjoyed the surfing activities, and came home with so many happy memories.

These were two unforgettable weeks, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone at Airlinguee for making them so special. We would highly recommend this camp and will definitely be back in the future!

Unsere 17-jährige Tochter hat 2 Wochen in Irland verbracht und dort Englischunterricht mit Reiten kombiniert. Die gesamte Reise war von Anfang bis Ende hervorragend organisiert und hat unsere Erwartungen in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen.
Da es ihre erste Reise alleine ins Ausland war, hatten wir als Eltern anfangs natürlich ein wenig Sorge. Diese war jedoch völlig unbegründet. Vom ersten Kontakt an wurden wir freundlich, kompetent und jederzeit hilfsbereit betreut. Die Kommunikation war ausgezeichnet und wir fühlten uns während der gesamten Zeit bestens informiert.
